Second and Final attempt

Well, second and final trip worked out great! Got the girls to the Zoo, without getting lost, and they had a blast. It got in its 50's today so it actually was a nice day to do it. Rhiannon shed her jacket halfway though and i ended up carrying half thier costume by the end. The zoo is the perfect size for the girls to walk around it, it took about 2 hours. Although there was so many people that it was too congested to really be able to stop and take too many photos. The girls had a great time and thats all that counts anyways, so definitely a great day.

1st attempt

Well, i had been planning on taking the girls to a Halloween event at the Des Moines Zoo. Well, i got the girls dressed and and got to Des Moines and got lost. We drove around trying to find my way, but was getting low on gas and didnt have any money on me. We ended up just coming home. Next weekend is the last weekend of the event and this time i will take a map and a full tank of gas. The girls werent let down too much, cause they really enjoyed getting dressed up. I was bothered about it more, because i had been talking it up all week long and i felt like an idiot for getting lost. Oh well :) Rhiannon dressed up as Hannah Montana and poor Scarlett is so petite that she doesnt fit into the smallest Fairy Princess outfit we could find. I had to put sweats underneath her outfit to try and fill it out and plus the event is outdoors at the zoo and the temps have been in thier 40's lately. I made my best attempt of putting make-up on them, but settled for just putting the glittery stuff on. It seemed to look the best. These pics dont show the make-up or glitter, cause i waited till the last moment before walking out of the door for the make-up. Figured that would be the safest for these two hellcats. lol

newest

Well, i had my inet turned off for a bit. During that time ive done alot to the house. Ive completely rearranged the house and did a lot of cleaning while doing so. The girls, Mema, and I took a trip to a pumpkin patch for Rhiannon's preschool field trip. The girls had a blast. Scarlett wasnt too thrilled about the tractor ride, but she got over it about half way through. The pumkin patch pictures are courtesy of Mema, and I was able to snap a couple more photos of the girls hanging around thier room. The girls are doing great and life for me is looking fantastic. Its very empowering to have taken control of the mess and get things in all aspects of life cleaned up. Once I finish moving stuff around, I'll have more pictures of the girls and more updates.

A WIP is still just a WIP

well, after a long eventfull weekend with the girls, i was able to spit this out. I was thinking about surrounding the design with the styale of band that sits off to the side. ill have to wait till tomorrow to start on that part since its about bedtime, cause i gotta get the girls over to thier moms house before getting to work at 6am. This weekend was fun though. The girls and I started the weekend by going to the Oktemberfest parade here in town. We walked downtown for a little picnic on the courthous lawn and then some rides at the carnival thats in town for the fest. Scarlet started flipping out on the first ride which is one of those rides that has like 6 cups that spin around and each other, then each cup spins in itself. I spent more its actually hard to keep it from spinning, than it is to just go with the spin. It was the only thing i could do to keep scarlett from flipping out even more. I thought it would be the least scariest ride there, but still too much for her. Rhiannon went on a couple more rides, but Scarlett wasnt having any of it. We then went home and let the girls take a knap, before going bowling with a buddy and his 5 year old named Madison. The girls had a blast and it was fun to get out with friends and the kids. We went over to Madison's house and let the girls rock out to Hannah Montana and play dress up before watching Barbie's Mermaidia and then Polar Express. Popcorn, pretzels and juice packs and we all almost fell asleep by the time Polar Express got over. Sunday, we went over to the girls gparents on thier moms side, since mom's car isnt reliable enough to leave town and they had been talking about those gparents and thier animals. Rhiannon insisted we stop and get some pig ears for the dogs and some play mice for the cats for heading out of town. The Etzels fixed breakfast for everyone and thier infant cousin Phenious was there, so the day was nice and relaxing. We ended it by stopping by a wedding reception that was for the accountant that works for my company. They had a closed ceremony and a small reception and everyone thought the girls were so adorable. Ofcourse my boss fed them full of dinner mints and hooked them up with huge pieces of cake. Surprisingly enough the girls fell alseep watching spongebob in thier room before it was even bedtime. So it game me the rest of evening to relax a little and doodle, before my bedtime. Now comes the fun part of dealing with thier mother every morning to drop the girls off and pick them up after work. (sarcasim!)

A weekend and a Sketch

Well, somehow i got suckered into ripping up a parque floor for Nana and Papa on Saturday. Half way through, someone realized it would have been easier to just build up the rest of the floors to the same height, but at that point it was too late. What an adventure! It was well worth it and thier house will look beautiful once its done. Im sure Jaque will post pictures once she has a little more time. Sunday was a little better. Papa and I sprayed the ceilings so that the painters could get started on the walls. Rumor has it they made good progress and have just a little bit to finish up Monday evening. Then they will be down to the last little bit and then hopefully making thier final move.

Just something ive been playing with. I hate how my scanner picks up the pencil smudges and how it doesnt pick up the entire image. Im still not done with it, I feel like its missing something. Im thinking of eventually putting it on my back, but not entirely sure what to do with it. The sketch to the left is the original sketch.
